WESTPORT — The Board of Selectwomen on Wednesday approved four requests from the Westport Downtown Association to close roads and make other accommodations for outdoor dining and entertainment starting this spring through fall.

They are:

  • Closing Church Lane, from April 1 to Nov. 6, for outside restaurant dining every day, and to allow the Summer Music Series, which takes place many Fridays and Saturdays there.
  • Close a stretch of Main Street and parts of Elm Street for the 50th Westport Fine Arts Festival, scheduled for the Memorial Day weekend, May 26-28.
  • To use town-owned sidewalks for merchants to display goods for Sidewalk Sales Days, from June 23-25.
  • To close part of Elm Street, from Oct. 13-15, for the preparation and cleanup of Westoberfest, the association’s annual craft beer festival, which will take place Saturday, Oct. 14.
