WESTPORT — Important letters are in the mail to all Westport property owners.
As part of this year’s revaluation of all local properties, data mailers are being sent to owners asking them to verify details about their residential and commercial properties.
The details will be used to help calculate a property’s revalued tax assessment.
“The data mailers are one of the best ways for the Assessor’s Office and Vision Government Solutions to be certain that the information regarding your property is accurate,” Assessor Paul Friia said in a Monday statement. Vision Government Solutions is the firm hired by the town to manage the revaluation process.
Recipients should review property details listed in the data mailer, make adjustments as necessary and send it back whether or not corrections are made, Friia said.
“The return of the data mailer is an important step in the process of accurate valuations,” he added.
