WESTPORT — Sunrise Road in Saugatuck might see a 2½-story house replace a 1950s ranch.

No. 15 Sunrise lies near the crest of the modest, hilly neighborhood, which has seen a several houses upgraded over the last year.

The plan, which has an application before the Zoning Board of Appeals, will need variances for coverage and setbacks.

The parcel sits between Saugatuck Avenue and Indian Hill Road, and is one of the original constructions in the neighborhood.

Other houses have been updated recently, including a cluster at the bottom of the hill by developer Dan Riccio.

The house at No. 15 would be an outright replacement, according to the application by Patrick Frank on behalf of owner 15 Sunrise Hill LLC. The house would be demolished and replaced by the 2½-story structure.

The existing 1,351-square-foot house sold in September for $815,500.

According to a demolition permit issued by the town, the Historic District Commission did not consider the house to be historically significant.

The application is not yet on a ZBA agenda.
