WESTPORT — A hearing on future public transportation options in Westport will be co-hosted March 12 by officials from the Westport and Norwalk Transit Districts.
The meeting, designed to gather public comments, will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, in the Town Hall Auditorium, 110 Myrtle Ave.
Pater Gold and Karina Betfarhad, co-directors of the Westport Transit District, will be joined by Nelson Nygaard, a consultant for the Norwalk Transit District’s “NTD Ahead” project.
Westport contracts with the Norwalk agency to manage its local services, which include the Wheels2U Westport shuttle buses to and from the town’s railroad stations, as well as ride programs for the elderly and people with disabilities. The NTD Ahead project, according to officials’ announcement, “is re-envisioning bus service in Westport.” The effort will provide “a chance to look closely at areas of strength, weakness and potential growth.”
