WESTPORT — Registered voters in District 6 of the Representative Town Meeting are eligible to apply for appointment to a vacant seat on the legislative body.

The vacancy, created by the recent death of member Cathy Talmadge, has a term that expires Nov. 21, just after the next municipal election.

Although applicants must be voters registered in District 6, political party affiliation is not a consideration since Westport’s RTM is a non-partisan body.

Applicants should submit a resume by Jan. 20 to Town Clerk Jeffrey Dunkerton, by emailing JDunkerton@westportct.gov or sending it to Westport Town Clerk, Room 105, 110 Myrtle Ave., Westport, CT 06880.

The seat will be filled from among the applicants by a vote of the three remaining RTM members in District 6.
