
WESTPORT — Twenty-two students have been awarded college scholarships from the Westport Police Benevolent Association’s Scholarship Foundation.
The program was founded by Joan Poster and the late Dennis Poster, also its principal donors.
All recipients received a scholarship in the amount of $2,000.
The Wilbur Scholarship is awarded to Westport police officers’ children, who complete community service and have a 3.0 grade-point average.
This year’s Wilbur Scholarship recipients are: Zoe Koskinas, Samuel and Jonathan Wolf, Madison and Gabrielle Hayes, Brandon Smith, Ava Wooldridge, Olivia and Grace Biagiotti, Sara Sabin, Samantha Sabin and Joseph Sabin, Meghan Velky, Jaden Aliberti, Emma and Jacqueline Kelley, Alexis Broderick, April and Edward Nowinski, and Zachary Benson.
The Deputy Chief John Anastasia and Chief Bill Stefan Scholarships are awarded to a Staples High School senior entering college, who plans studies focused on the law or law enforcement.
Kervin Joseph was selected to receive the Deputy Chief John Anastasia Scholarship, and Juan Nieves Jr. was presented with the Chief Bill Stefan Scholarship.
