WESTPORT–The Connecticut Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society, Blau House & Gardens, and Wakeman Town Farm invite rhododendron fans to a celebration of the dignified and colorful plant on Sunday, May 17.  Register here for the lecture / tour ($12.51).

9:30 Coffee/lecture at WTF

The event begins at 9:30 a.m. with coffee and pastries at Wakeman Town Farm. From 10 to 11:15 a.m., Melissa Finley, Senior Curator at the New York Botanical Garden, will present “Rhododendrons: From Wild Roots to Modern Blooms,” a lecture exploring the evolutionary history and landscape value of rhododendrons. 

11:30 Lunch

Guests who pre-order $23 box lunches will enjoy a salad, sandwich and dessert. Pre-order here. 

12:30 Tour at Blau House and Gardens

From 12:30 to 2 p.m., patrons will join a guided tour of the Blau House & Gardens, a Westport horticultural treasure, featuring magnificent rhododendrons. Register here for the lecture / tour ($12.51).
