Westport Rotary Club, whose members both volunteer and financially support a range of community and social-service causes, is known locally for its signature seaside fundraiser, “LobsterFest” at Compo Beach. This year’s event is already scheduled for Sept. 21.

Money raised by LobsterFest is the primary source of funding for Westport Rotary’s yearly community grants, which last year totaled $180,500 distributed among 39 area nonprofits.

The Rotary grants benefit a range of social-service and community programs, from organizations supporting educational and mental health initiatives to others helping people with disabilities and those at risk of homelessness and food insecurity.
