WESTPORT — Advocates for children, whose nonprofit is the recipient of a Westport Rotary Club community grant, detailed the group’s mission at a club meeting this week.
The Center for Children’s Advocacy of Fairfield County was represented at the club’s Aug. 9 gathering by Amy Saji, a staff attorney for the organization, and Maggie Prendergast, its development director.
The center, described on its website as “a nonprofit law firm which fights for the legal rights of Connecticut’s most vulnerable children,” in its mission advocates for racial justice, educational success and anti-bullying initiatives.
Funds for the community grant awarded to the center this year by the Westport Rotary were raised by last year’s “LobsterFest.” This year’s LobsterFest, the 11th annual, is planned Sept. 17 at Compo Beach.
