WESTPORT — The town’s LGBTQ community will show its “Pride” with a celebration Sunday at Staples High School.
The second annual event has been relocated to the high school’s auditorium at 70 North Ave. from the initially planned site on Jesup Green because of possible inclement weather, organizers said Friday.
The celebration organized by Westport Pride still will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 12, and is open to the public.
First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker is set to open the event with a proclamation designating June as Pride Month in Westport.
Brian McGunagle, the founder of Westport Pride, also will address the gathering.
The event also will include musical performances, vendors, activities for children and educational materials.
