WESTPORT — Changes in downtown traffic patterns are brewing for “Westoberfest” on Saturday.
Traffic will be off limits on several streets for the annual craft beer celebration, organized by the Westport Downtown Association, which is set from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21. To reserve Westoberfest tickets online, click here.
The seventh annual event will unfold, rain or shine, in several designated areas along Elm Street: craft beer tasting — restricted to those 21 years old and over — will be in Sigrid Schultz Plaza; a fall festival area next door is planned for families with seasonal activities like pumpkin and flower crafts, face painting and other attractions; a contest/games area, and an array of vendor booths will line the street.
In a traffic advisory, police say that traffic will be prohibited from 2 to 6 p.m. on Elm Street, Church Lane and Main Street southbound Saturday to accommodate the event.
