WESTPORT — Don’t get spooked, but traffic patterns downtown will be transformed Tuesday afternoon.

But it’s not magic, merely police enforcement to allow the town’s annual Children’s Halloween Parade to march through the area.

The parade, weather permitting, is set to step off at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, from the corner of Main Street and Post Road East.

Marchers will head up Main Street, trick-or-treating at shops along the way, to Avery Place and then onto Myrtle Avenue to Veterans Green. Refreshments will be available at the green.

The following roads will be affected:

  • Main Street will be closed from Post Road East to Avery Place starting at 2:30 p.m.
  • Avery Place will be closed at approximately 3 p.m.
  • Myrtle Avenue from Evergreen Avenue to Main Street will be closed as of about 3 p.m.

Roads are expected to reopen by about 6 o’clock.
