WESTPORT — The town’s annual Veterans Day ceremony will take place Monday at Town Hall.

The salute to men and women who have served in the nation’s armed forces coincides with traditional timing — the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month — marking the signing of the armistice that ended World War I in 1918.

The ceremony, open to the public, starts at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11, in Town Hall’s auditorium, 110 Myrtle Ave. The program is organized by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 399 and town officials.

Prior to the ceremony, a concert of patriotic music will be performed, starting at 10:30 a.m., by the Westport Community Band.
