EASTON — A special event this weekend will give people a chance to learn more about the situation in Ukraine and help support efforts to send medical supplies to the nation.
A Taste of Ukraine will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 26th, at Ashlar Aspetuck Lodge No. 42. The event is hosted and sponsored by Westport artist Mark Yurkiw for Ridgefield Responds for Ukraine.
Yurkiw will give a presentation on how the crisis in Ukraine started, the current situation, and what efforts are underway to send aid overseas. This will include a discussion of Yurkiw’s own work to send medical supplies to Ukraine, an effort which the evening’s proceeds will support.
The event will also give visitors a chance to sample a pierogi dish and Ukrainian desserts, and to buy artwork. The suggested donation is $30 per person, and attendance is limited to 50 people. Reservations can be made here, and donations can be made here.
