Sustainable Westport says Westport was the first town east of the Mississippi to ban single-use plastic bags; the first municipality on the East Coast to have a fully-electric police car; and one of the first towns to declare “We Are Still In” after a public announcement that the United States would withdraw from the Paris Agreement, an international climate change treaty.
