WESTPORT — The region narrowly missed a potential disaster with the redirection and subsequent downgrading of former Hurricane Henri Sunday afternoon, but most of the town still remained in hiding.

A few people came out to stretch their legs and look over some of the rain-soaked visages that were in appearance Sunday, but overall those views were quiet, but for the steady patter of Henri’s residue rain.
