WESTPORT — Mimi Greenlee, a longtime leader among volunteers for Westport Library book sales, is being honored by the Friends of Connecticut Libraries.
Greenlee, who has co-chaired, managed the inventory and helped train volunteers for library book sales over more than two decades, will receive an Individual Achievement Award at the organization’s annual meeting June 10.
More recently, Greenlee has managed book donations to the Westport Book Shop, which is operated by Westport Book Sale Ventures, the non-profit that also organizes library book sales and its online sales. Westport Book Sale Ventures is a member of the Friends of Connecticut Libraries.
“We are very gratified that Mimi is being recognized by FOCL,” the directors of Westport Book Sale Ventures said in a statement.
“Mimi has generously shared countless hours of dedicated leadership, inspiration and encouragement with hundreds of book sale volunteers over the years. Even greater than her organizational skills [which are considerable] are her people and motivational skills.
“Mimi Greenlee is both a mentor and a friend,” the statement concludes.
