WESTPORT — A special detail of servers at Rizzuto’s restaurant on Thursday may prompt diners to fork over extra special tips.

That’s because Westport police officers will join the restaurant’s staff for a “Tip-A-Cop” program benefiting the state Special Olympics programs.

The program is set from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at Rizzuto’s Oyster Bar and Restaurant, 540 Riverside Ave.

Officers will help take orders and serve meals, with all tips they receive “dedicated to helping Special Olympics Connecticut provide life-changing sports, health, and fitness programs to athletes of all abilities,” according to the nonprofit’s announcement.
