WESTPORT — Rach’s Hope, a local nonprofit dedicated to helping families cope with a child’s serious illness, will host its 4th annual “PJ Gala” benefit on March 11.
The event, including food and music, will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 11, at the FTC Warehouse, 70 Sanford St., Fairfield. For more details and to purchase tickets online, click here.
The event is a fundraiser for Rach’s Hope, a charity established to honor the legacy of Rachel Doran, a 2015 graduate of Staples High School, where she was an honors student and costume designer for the Staples Players. In 2018, as a rising senior at Cornell University studying fashion design and business, Doran fell fatally ill with a rare reaction to common medications.
It will feature small bites and desserts, an open bar and an auction.
Musical performances will include an acoustic set by Michael Cantor, of Westport, and area rock band Ellis Island.
Attendees at the PJ Gala are invited “to wear pajama-chic attire as an homage to Doran’s childhood business, Rachel’s Rags,” according to event organizers.
Money raised by the event will be used by Rach’s Hope to assist families with sick children, providing them with food, lodging, transportation and encouragement, allowing them to focus attention on supporting their children.
