The church’s 311th anniversary was marked with a ceremony and community festival to rededicate the historic house of worship following a slate of extensive renovations.

Among those on hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony were U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, former First Selectman Jim Marpe and the Rev. Jeff Rider, the church’s senior minister.

In its new meeting rooms, in addition to congregation activities, the church hosts local community groups, including scout troops, recovery groups, the Westport Rotary Club, the Westport Garden Club and a licensed nursery school.
