WESTPORT — A golf tournament will be hosted June 10 by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 399 and American Legion Post 63 at the Longshore Golf Course.

The event will get underway with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Monday, June 10, at the golf course, 260 Compo Road South. 

Registration begins at 8 o’clock; coffee will be available and a putting contest is planned before the tourney starts. The event is a scramble format with four-person teams; single golfers will be assembled to form teams.

A fee of $150 per golfer includes greens fees for the 18-hole course, cart, putting contest, awards and a barbecue luncheon at VFW Post 399, 465 Riverside Ave. Registration forms can be found on VFW Post 399’s  website. There also is information about tournament sponsorship opportunities.

People can sponsor a veteran, active duty or reserve member of the service to play golf. Non-golfers can attend the awards luncheon at the VFW Post for a $50 fee.
