WESTPORT — Winslow Park really went to the dogs Sunday. And it was a howling success.

The day’s misty morning skies cleared and the sun-splashed park beckoned dogs of all sizes, colors and pedigrees, with lineage ranging from the very mixed to pure-bred, for the annual Westport Dog Festival.

The sixth annual event, sponsored by the Westport-Weston Chamber of Commerce, featured canine-centric competitions, demonstrations and many other features catering to Fidos and their humans.

More than 60 pet-related vendors also were scheduled to be on hand, in addition to a selection of food trucks, according to event organizers.

Proceeds from the event will benefit nonprofit organizations, according to the chamber, with more than $30,000 donated from funds raised at earlier festivals.
