WESTPORT — Gremlins and Ghosts, Princesses and Pirates, Super Heroes and Star Warriors! Oh, my!!

All of the above, and more, will be on the march Oct. 27 as the annual Children’s Halloween Parade hits the streets downtown. Rain date is Oct. 28.

The event, starting at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, is sponsored by the town’s Parks and Recreation Department, the Downtown Association and Westport P.A.L.

The holiday treat is particularly geared for little tricksters — children about 8 years old and younger, according to organizers.

Children, with parents or guardians, should gather at the parade’s starting point, the corner of Main Street and Post Road East.

The parade will proceed up Main Street, turn right onto Avery Place and then turn left on Myrtle Avenue to Town Hall and Veterans Green.

Youngsters are invited to trick-or-treat along Main Street and outside Town Hall.

At 4 p.m. on Veterans Green, there will be refreshments, entertainment and small gifts for Halloween celebrants.

  • No parking will be allowed on Main Street from 2 to 4 p.m. to accommodate the parade.
