NORWALK–The 7th Annual Vincent Penna Jr Memorial Car Show, hosted by the Italian American Police Society of Southern CT is Sunday, August 10, at 148 East Avenue, Norwalk.  The show raises funds for the Vincent Penna Jr Memorial Scholarship Fund, devoted to childhood education in southern Connecticut.

Vincent Penna Jr. was an officer with the Westport Police Department for 26 years, becoming the Deputy Chief before retiring in 2017. Penna passed away unexpectedly in December of 2020 at age 51. He left behind his wife, his teenage sons and countless family members, friends, colleagues and fellow officers who admired his passion for his family and community.

As in years past, the show is expected to have hundreds of classic and exotic cars on display. Thousands of automotive enthusiasts are expected to attend. There is a $20 fee to enter your car, there are no cut-off years and spectators can attend for free.

Billy Genario & Band will play live music and there will be raffle prizes, food trucks, trophies, and more. Thanks to more than 150 sponsors, the IAPS of CT will be giving away more than $30,000.00 in prizes.

The forecast for Sunday is sunny and warm. Nevertheless, the organizers have set a rain date for August 17.
