WESTPORT — Photographs of area farms and the people who run them, taken in support of the “Who Grows Your Food” campaign launched by the Westport Farmers Market, are now on sale.
Sale of 52 photos, taken by Anne Burmeister and Ashley Skatoff, will benefit the farm market and its programs. The images are among 1,000 photos taken at Connecticut farms by the photographers.
The photos also were featured last year in the “Between the Ground and the Sky” exhibit at MoCA Westport.
Each of the photos is an 18-by-27-inch original print (23 by 32 inches with border), and is on sale for $500.
The images also are signed and dated by the photographers, and come with a certificate including information about the farm, as well as text added by the photographer for the MoCA exhibit. The certificate is signed by the farmer and can be attached to the image or frame, according to publicity for the sale.
Purchased photos may be picked up at the first three markets of the new season on May 12, May 19 or May 26.
“Who Grows Your Food is an intimate photographic journey that shares stories of the real people who grow and raise the real food sold at WFM by introducing farmers to eaters through multi-media platforms,” Lori Cochran-Dougall, executive director of the Westport Farmers Market, said in the publicity release.
