WESTPORT — Looks like winter finally remembered us and is trying to make up for lost snowstorms. People are crabby, cough medicine is the new cocktail and sallow skin gently mocks our reflection in the mirror.
To brighten these deep winter days, Westport Farmers Market invites you to their winter quratres. Sheltered in the Gilbertie’s Herbs and Garden greenhouses, the market is “a sanctuary of warmth, wellness, and community — a perfect escape on a chilly winter’s day.”
The winter market brings unexpected comforts: a caring community, meditations and massages, and self-care items to promote health and wellness.

Enjoy a respite from reality with Pause and Purpose meditations and sound baths, Dharma massages and TAP Strength workshops focusing on “effortless living.” All based in Westport and dedicated to promoting mindfulness, reflection and rejuvenation.
Herbal Deva sells organic teas, each touting their cleansing and restorative properties, and a homemade Westport-made elderberry syrup about which a loyal customer raved, “a preventative and delicious!”
Sprout Raw Juice offers, as promised, raw juices, elixirs and tonics, all fresh-pressed daily, “packed with nutritional value,” focusing on “superfoods, antioxidants, healthy fats, fruits and vegetables.”
Espalier, founded by a breast cancer survivor, makes luxurious soaps and lotions, sourced from organic ingredients, that are free from toxins and designed to nourish the skin.
Kids can keep busy with Get Growing activities — hands-on experiences to teach the “importance of sustainable living and the joy of growing and eating local food.”
Of course, there’s the nursery’s endless greenery to remind us of the warmer, longer days ahead.
Westport Farmers Market runs every Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Gilbertie’s Herbs and Gardens, 7 Sylvan Lane.
