WESTPORT–Connecticut Attorney General William Tong spoke to business owners and residents Thursday at the Westport Library as the third speaker in the “Your State – Your Business” series, produced by the Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce.
Tong started the session with a “Law School 101” brief, which set the stage for the civil legal and constitutional law discussions that followed. Key topics Tong covered included the role of the Attorney General, here in Connecticut as well as in other states, current high profile issues like personal data and privacy, along with brief updates on current and previous cases the state has filed.
Tong then took questions from the crowd during a session moderated by chamber’s Executive Director, Matthew Mandell. Questions ranged from current cases against Meta, the federal government, Eversource and Aquarion.
The series’ next and final session, on Monday, April 13th at the Library at 11 a.m. will feature Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont. The sessions are free of charge, but registration is required. Visit here for more information.
