WESTPORT–Aquarion Water Company plans to install a new water main from the Hemlocks Reservoir in Fairfield to Coleytown Road in Westport, to strengthen the resiliency of the water system across Fairfield County.
Public Information Meeting
A community meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Patterson Club, 118 Cross Highway, Fairfield, CT.
At the meeting, Aquarion representatives will share insight into the project and hold an open discussion regarding how the project will impact traffic on Westport’s Easton Road. Residents and public officials are strongly encouraged to attend.
Project Overview
The pipeline design and construction are divided into phases. The first phase of the work begins in Fairfield at the Hemlocks Reservoir on Black Rock Turnpike and proceeds into Westport to an underground connection at the intersection of Coleytown Road and Easton Road (CT Route 136).
There will be another phase of work that will extend the new 36-inch water main from the location on Coleytown Road in Westport to the existing water storage tanks on Belden Hill Road in Wilton.
Westport traffic will be affected on Easton Road (CT Route 136), ending at Coleytown Road. Construction is expected to begin in August 2026. Visit Aquarion here for more information.

This is the first I’ve heard of this, I think, so this is short notice. People in RTM District 8 (the northeast section of town) May want to attend the meeting since the project will affect us.
