WESTPORT — Home is where the heart is.
A Wilton Road home and its longtime resident — both nearing centenary status — have been honored with a heartfelt tribute.
The house at 185 Wilton Road, built 99 years ago, and 96-year-old Janet Ramsey Aley, who has lived there 64 years, recently were recipients of a plaque recognizing the historical benchmarks from the Westport Museum of History and Culture.
Jud Aley initiated the effort to cite the dwelling’s historic credentials, which his parents purchased in 1959 and was built by John Keene in 1924, according to museum research.
His mother, besides living in the Wilton Road house more than six decades, is a lifelong resident of Westport.
The “Keene-Aley House” plaque is the latest historic citation presented to more than 450 local structures since the program was launched in 1978.
