WESTPORT — A new season of the Westport Farmers Market sprouts May 12.
The market, as in years past, will take place weekly on Thursdays, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the parking lot at 50 Imperial Ave.
In addition to a range of the season’s fresh harvest, vendors at the market will offer prepared foods and, after two years, visitors will be able to dine there as well.
Music, cooking demonstrations and activities for children also will be regular features at the weekly market.
Farms scheduled to participate this year include: Fort Hill Farm, Riverbank Farm, Ox Hollow Farm, Calf + Clover Creamery, Beaver Brook Farm, Herbal Deva, Muddy Feet Flower Farm, Two Guys from Woodbridge, Bee Love Project, Horseshoe Farm, Deeply Rooted Farm, Popp’s Farm, Rose’s Berry Farm, Seacoast Mushroom, Lost Ruby Farm and Woodland Farm.
Prepared food vendors will include: Boxcar Cantina, NitNoi Provisions, Farmers and Cooks, Simply Local, Herbaceous Catering, Badass Bagels, Parlor Pizza and others.
“We’ve been steadfast in our commitment to providing the freshest, best local food to our community throughout the pandemic and are so excited to finally return to a sense of normalcy with this season’s market,” Lori Cochran-Dougall, the market’s executive director, said in a statement announcing this year’s opening.
