WESTPORT — Community Service Grants totaling $50,000 were recently awarded by the Westport Woman’s Club, continuing an annual tradition of the club.

The grants support a range of community and social-service initiatives around the region, including groups that address issues such as  homelessness, family crises and food insecurity.

Grants this year were awarded to 19 nonprofits, whose representatives were presented with their grants at an April 24 ceremony in the club’s Bedford Hall. The 2025 grant recipients include:

The Workplace, Malta House, St. Catherine Center for Special Needs, Caroline House, the Child and Family Guidance Center and Clothes to Kids of Fairfield County.

Members of Westport Woman’s Club grants committee, which oversees the annual awards program to area community and social-services groups.

Also, Horizon at Connecticut State Norwalk, the Exchange Club Center, Bridgeport Rescue Center, Greens Farms Garden Club, Human Services Council, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 399 and Food Rescue US.

And, Nourish Bridgeport, Applied Behavioral Rehab Institute, Homes with Hope, Team Wolfgang & Co., WestPAC and Star Inc. Lighting the Way.

The Westport Woman’s Club, founded in 1907, is “committed to volunteer service and fundraising to support educational, charitable, cultural and public health initiatives in Westport and nearby areas,” according to the club’s announcement.

Membership is open to “women who want to serve,” and is not restricted to Westport residents.
