Devoted to environmental causes, she was an entrepreneur in the sailing field, an ocean-sailing crew mate when that was rare for women, and among her community activities, helped create the Mill Pond Preserve, led a pioneering Ban-the-Bag initiative, co-founded the Habitat for Humanity ReStore and helped found the Westbridge Coalition.
