WESTPORT — An internationally known retailer of crystal-accented jewelry, watches and decorations plans to open a store downtown, already home to shops dedicated to luxury brands like Tiffany and Chanel.

Swarovski, the Austria-based crystal maker, will open a store at 61 Main St. early next year, under a lease brokered by RIPCO Real Estate.

The retail space encompasses nearly 1,900 square feet, according to the commercial real estate firm.

Founded in 1895 in Austria by Daniel Swarovski, the business is known for precision-cut crystals incorporated into designs for many of its offerings.

Swarovski has stores worldwide, offering a range of “meticulously crafted jewelry, fashion accessories and crystal products that blend tradition with innovation,” according to the announcement.

The Westport Swarovski store “aligns with Westport’s reputation as a destination for luxury shopping, offering access to high-end brands in a charming downtown setting,” the realty firm said in a press statement.

“Known for over a century as a global leader in luxury crystal and jewelry,” Beth Rosen, RIPCO’s executive vice president, said in the statement, “this new space will allow customers to experience Swarovski’s stunning collections up close, offering everything from jewelry and watches to crystal decor.”

“Swarovski’s decision to open a new store in Westport reinforces the area’s reputation as a vibrant hub for luxury and high-end shopping, attracting both residents and visitors alike,” she added.
