WESTPORT–Dandelion, the Mediterranean-inspired dining spot in the Delamar Westport hotel, has been named the Best New Restaurant in Connecticut by Yankee Magazine.
“With its vaulted ceiling, free-flowing indoor-outdoor dining areas, and mostly Mediterranean menu, Dandelion is a welcome addition to Fairfield County’s rich dining scene,” the magazine wrote in its annual guide to New England for the May-June edition. “Feast on such innovative delicacies as Moroccan cigars (local goat, preserved lemon, labneh, and harissa), dandelion salad, wood-fired sea bream, and fig and almond cake. A tawny-colored guava-rita with a jaunty lime is the favorite drink.”
Opened last year, the restaurant at 1595 Post Road East holds a 4.5-star rating on Open Table, based on 192 reviews. Its Yelp score is 4.2 stars, based on 13 reviews.
The Delamar Westport’s parent company celebrated winning the honor and one other: The Delamar Mystic was named Best New Hotel in Connecticut.
“These recognitions are a testament to the passion and dedication of our teams, who consistently strive to create exceptional guest experiences,” said Charles Mallory, chief executive officer and founder of Delamar Hotel Collection. “We are honored to be recognized by Yankee Magazine and proud to contribute to the dynamic hospitality landscape of New England.”
The accolades are the latest of various honors won by the company, which was founded in 2000 and now includes five hotels in Connecticut and one in Michigan.
Yankee Magazine’s Travel Guide also chooses the best restaurants in several other categories as well as the best free summer event, fun spot for grown-ups, indie music store, museum shop, new attraction and more.
