WESTPORT–Anyone who believes it’s a myth that criminals return to the scenes of their crimes should consider the case of Aleajah Cintron – and an associate – and their alleged visits to Ulta Beauty.

Cintron, a 30-year-old Danbury resident, allegedly entered the store at 1365 Post Road East with a man, a child and an infant on March 13, and walked out with $3,157 in stolen items, Westport police said. Cintron allegedly hid items from the shelves in the infant’s stroller while the man allegedly stuffed his pockets with other merchandise.

They also returned merchandise, using a membership loyalty card Cintron provided, police said.

The staff at the store was able to identify the vehicle they drove off in.

Eleven days later, on March 24, the officers were called to the store when the same two adults were back.

“Both confessed to being involved in a previous theft from the store, alleged to be the March 13 incident,” police said in a statement.

After further processing the incident, police obtained arrest warrants for both. Cintron turned herself in to Westport police on Monday, police said.

She was charged with third-degree larceny, third-degree conspiracy to commit larceny and risk of injury to a child, all felonies. She was released without bail and is due in Superior Court in Stamford on June 22.

Cintron also faces charges in Danbury – fifth-degree larceny, a misdemeanor, for a March 2 incident and sixth-degree larceny, also a misdemeanor, for a Feb. 9 incident. She was released without bail on those charges and is due in Superior Court in Danbury on June 2.
