Special events to be presented at Westport Country Playhouse in coming months include, clockwise from left: concerts by Judy Collins and the Bacon Brothers, and “All Things Equal,” with actress Michelle Azar as the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

WESTPORT — One-night-only performances and special presentations will be showcased through this summer at the Westport Country Playhouse.

Among the newly announced presentations are concerts by Judy Collins on April 12, Isaac Mizrahi on June 15 and the Bacon Brothers Band on July 25; “in-conversation” programs with playwright and screenwriter Tony Kushner on June 6 and writer and commentator Fran Lebowitz on Sept. 5, and “All Things Equal,” a one-woman show about the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg from May 3-5.

The events align with the playhouse plans, announced last year, to function as a performing arts center from January through late summer, offering a broader range of presentations than its traditional theatrical fare.

From this fall through March 2025, the playhouse plans to mount five theatrical productions, titles of which have yet to be announced.

Other upcoming presentations, already announced, include: “A Night for Swifties,” a Taylor Swift tribute concert on Feb. 2 and singer/actress Audra McDonald in concert Feb. 10.

The playhouse also plans fresh installments of its “Script in Hand” play-reading series throughout the year, including a Feb. 5 presentation, “Lombardi,” about the famed football coach, Vince Lombardi.

Family-oriented productions also are scheduled, including “Don’t let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical” on April 27.

General admission tickets for many of the special events go on sale at noon Friday, Jan. 26. Check the theater’s website for details.

Tickets can currently be reserved by members of the playhouse’s new Encore Club, for a $150 annual membership fee. For details, click here.
