MoCA Westport is one of seven local arts organizations to be awarded grants from the Connecticut Arts Endowment Fund.

WESTPORT — Seven local arts organizations are among those sharing in more $126,000 granted to groups by the Connecticut Arts Endowment Fund throughout the 26th state Senate District.

Grants to support performances and arts education were issued to a total of 23 organizations districtwide, according to a recent announcement by state Sen. Ceci Maher, D-26.

Westport groups that received grants are: 

Fairfield County Chorale, $527

JIB Productions (Play With Your Food), Westport, $500

Levitt Pavilion, Friends of Westport, $18,237

MoCA Westport, $5,265

Music For Youth, $500

Suzuki Music School, $1,056

Westport Country Playhouse, $7,219

“Our community arts programs are a vital part of our towns and cities, providing opportunities for education leading to the development of careers and skills and for local entertainment which supports our local economies,” Maher said in making the announcement.
