WESTPORT — High school students are invited to submit art work for MoCA Westport’s 2022 High School Student Art Exhibition.

The exhibit will be on display from Jan. 29 through March 12, 2022, at the museum, 19 Newtown Turnpike. An online gallery of the work also will be presented on the museum’s website.

Theme of the exhibition is “Identity,” which MoCA officials say can encompass “memories, experiences, relationships and values that create one’s sense of self.”

The submitted art work can be in any medium, including drawing, painting, digital/graphic images, photographs, sculpture or video.

Any high school students is eligible to submit one piece of work, and all works will be accepted, “unless deemed inappropriate due to graphic content,” according to the announcement for the exhibit.

Submissions, by digital email, are due by midnight Sunday, Dec. 19. There is a $10 entry fee; scholarships to waive the fee are available.

Artwork should be dropped off Sunday, Jan. 9, from noon to 4 p.m., or Monday, Jan. 10, from noon to 6 p.m.

All two-dimensional work must be framed and ready to hang. Work may not exceed 30 inches in either height or width

“We look forward to once again sharing the talent and perspectives of the high school community with our visitors,” Ruth Mannes, MoCA Westport’s executive director, said in announcing the show. “This is a very important show for us and we hope students from across the region will choose to participate.”

This year’s High School Student Art Exhibition, “Hindsight is 2020,” featured nearly 200 art works with students’ artistic impressions of the challenging year.
