WESTPORT — A piano concert, benefiting the Homes with Hope food pantry, will be performed March 16 at Saugatuck Congregational Church.

The event, planned in conjunction with the Music for Food initiative, will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 16, at the church, 245 Post Road East.

There is no admission charge to attend the concert, which is open to the public.

Donations will be collected for the food pantry operated by Homes with Hope, the Westport-based nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness and hunger in Fairfield County.

The concert will feature pianist Emma Tahmiziàn performing classical works by Scarlatti, Chopin, Liszt, Brahms, Debussy, Currier and Yedidia. 

A native of Bulgaria, Tahmiziàn made her debut performance at an international level at 11 years old. She has performed and recorded internationally since winning the 1977 Robert Schumann Competition, including awarded performances at at the Tchaikovsky Competition (1982), the Leeds Competition (1984) and Van Cliburn Competition (1985), according to the concert announcement.

She holds master of music degrees the Bulgarian State Music Conservatory and the Juilliard School.
