WESTPORT–A reunion of the classic legal drama L.A. Law will take place in Westport.

Actors Michael Tucker, Jimmy Smits, and Jill Eikenberry are set to star in a Script in Hand Playreading of Michael Tucker’s new comedy, A Tailor Near Me, on Monday, June 8, at 7 P.M.. This Special Evening at the Westport Country Playhouse marks a rare appearance together for the beloved Television Cast members.

Michael Tucker, who is also the Playwright, is a Golden Globe and Emmy-nominated Actor best known for his portrayal of Stuart Markowitz on the long-running NBC series L.A. Law. Jimmy Smits, an Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning Actor with credits including NYPD Blue, The West Wing, and the Star Wars franchise, will play Alfredo, a neighborhood Tailor. Jill Eikenberry, who played Anne Kelsey and earned five Emmy Nominations and a Golden Globe Award for her role, will read the stage directions for the Play.

The Comedy, described as warm and wise, centers on Sam (played by Michael Tucker) who brings a pair of too-tight suit Pants to Alfredo (played by Jimmy Smits) for alterations. What begins as a routine fitting quickly blossoms into an unexpected Friendship that leads to major alterations in both men’s Lives. Mark Shanahan, Westport Country Playhouse Artistic Director, called the Play a “Beautiful, funny, deeply observant play about Friendship, reinvention, and the surprising ways we shape Ourselves to fit the Lives we think we’re supposed to lead”.
