WESTPORT–Kevin Burke and John Brennan will play at First Folk Sunday on Sunday September 7 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

According to the event promotion, few players can match the fiddling prowess of Kevin Burke. John Brennan is a Southern California rocker

Brennan has played with rock legends Graham Nash, Chris Hillman of The Byrds and Poco.

London-born fiddler Burke is steeped in traditional Irish music; he had fiddled with The Bothy Band, Kate Bush and, Arlo Guthrie. The New York Times calls Burke “one of the great living Celtic fiddlers,” and The Washington Post says he’s “one of the greatest Irish fiddlers of the past half-century.” 

The Pound Ridge Sessions

Burke and Brennan collaborated on a unique musical album project called “The Pound Ridge Sessions,” mixing Irish with American genres, from bluegrass to rock. “Fascinating and unexpected musical journeys” raved Tony Lawless on RTÉ (Irish Broadcasting) and “Great stuff! Compelling and real” said Daniel Neely in the Irish Echo.
