WESTPORT — Longtime Westporter Melissa Newman brought her smooth vocals back to Basso Restaurant and Wine Bar Thursday night.
The Melissa Newman Trio, featuring guitarist Tony Lombardozzi and bassist Phil Bowler, packed the house for a cool collection of jazz and classic standards.
Trio fan, co-owner and executive chef Renato Donzelli, who opened the restaurant this year with his wife after many years of business in Norwalk, also sat in with the group, featured on conga percussion.
