NEW HAVEN – Families are invited to enjoy a program of festive seasonal music as the New Haven Symphony Orchestra presents three concerts in the region this month.
The orchestra’s Holiday Extravaganza is returning this year and partnering with high school music programs in West Haven, Shelton, and New Haven. Each concert features classic holiday songs, music from movies such as Home Alone and The Polar Express, and a visit from Santa Claus.
The Holiday Extravaganza schedule includes performances at:
- West Haven High School (Friday, Dec. 19th, at 7 p.m.)
- Shelton High School (Saturday, Dec. 20th, at 3 p.m.)
- Woolsey Hall in New Haven (Sunday, Dec. 21st, at 3 p.m.)
The West Haven concert is a fundraiser to benefit the music departments of Carrigan Intermediate and Bailey Middle schools.
The Shelton concert includes a Toys 4 Kids Drive with the human services agency TEAM, Inc. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to support the organization’s annual holiday effort to distribute gifts to children in the Naugatuck Valley region.
Tickets for the West Haven concert are being sold through the City of West Haven and can be purchased here. Tickets for the Shelton and New Haven performances can be purchased at NewHavenSymphony.org or by calling 203-693-1486.
Expanded coverage of Fairfield County cultural events is made possible with support from the Fairfield University Quick Center for the Arts.
