WESTPORT — Nature and still life oil paintings by Jarvis Wilcox will be showcased in December’s artist of the month exhibit at the Westport Book Shop.

The paintings will be on display during regular business hours at the store, 23 Jesup Road, through the end of the month. 

There will be an open reception for the exhibit from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the book shop.

Wilcox, a Westport resident, is a member of the Silvermine Guild of Artists and the Artists Collective of Westport.

He studied art history at Yale University and Columbia University. Previously, he painted in upstate New York for a decade, and then in the Hamptons for 25 years.
