WESTPORT — Mixed-media artwork by Katya Lebrija is featured for the month of January at the Westport Book Shop.

Pieces from Lebrija’s “Destinations” collection will be on view through Jan. 31 at the downtown store, 23 Jesup Road.

“These works freshly map both real and imagined places,” according to a publicity release for the exhibit.

“My journey as an artist consists of endless exploration and experimentation.  I am fascinated by using different materials in my art, and work with different mediums like acrylics, gesso, ink, collage, oil pastels and charcoal on surfaces like canvas, wood or paper,” Lebrija said in the press statement.

Born in Mexico City, Lebrija earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in graphic design from Universidad Anáhuac in 1995. After graduating, she worked as a freelance graphic designer until December 1999, when she moved to the United States.

Her work has been exhibited at venues in Connecticut, Vermont and New York City, as well as her native Mexico City, according to the book shop.
