WESTPORT — In February, the sounds of music wafting through a spring night may seem like a distant dream.

But that dream looks a lot closer to reality as tickets have gone on sale this week for the first “Stars on Tour” performance of the 2022 season at the Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts.

Michael Franti and Spearhead will perform June 19 at the pavilion, featured in the venue’s initial concert of the Stars on Tour series this year. Tickets sold for the series help underwrite the nonprofit Levitt’s season of free concerts and year-round operations.

Tickets are now on sale to Levitt members, who also get access to advance ticket sales for other Stars on Tour events during the season, as well as associated galas.

Tickets for the general public go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18.

Franti, in addition to being a musician, is described in publicity for the event as a “humanitarian, activist and award-winning filmmaker revered for his high-energy live shows, inspiring music, devotion to health and wellness, worldwide philanthropic efforts and the power of optimism.”

Over the course of his career, Franti has had three Billboard No. 1 songs — “Sound of Sunshine,” “Say Hey (I Love You)” and “I Got You,” as well as six Top-30 adult contemporary singles, nine Top-25 adult album alternative singles and three Billboard Top-5 rock albums.

For every ticket sold to the June 19 concert, according to event organizers, $1 will be donated to Do It For the Love Foundation. The nonprofit was founded by Franti and his wife Sara Agah Franti in 2013 to bring people with life-threatening illnesses, veterans and children with severe challenges to concerts around the world. The goal, the foundation says, is to help inspire “hope and joy through the healing power of music.”
