WESTPORT — Applications are being accepted for this year’s Joanne Woodward Internship Program at the Westport Country Playhouse.

The internship program offers on-the-job experience for those aspiring to theater careers by working with the playhouse’s senior staff during the coming spring and summer. The program has been named to honor Woodward, the actress, director, former playhouse artistic director and longtime Westport resident.

Internships, which have been offered by the playhouse since the 1940s, this year will run from May 28 through July 31.

Applicants must be at least 20 years old and have a high school degree or equivalent. Stipend is $630 weekly; interns will be provided housing accommodations.

Deadline to apply is Friday, March 8. For detailed information about the available internships and the application form, click here.

Internships are available in marketing, development/fundraising, general production and community engagement, according to the theater’s announcement. Interns also will attend weekly seminars featuring guest speakers, including playhouse staff members, visiting designers and artists, producers and others.
