

WESTPORT — “Fences,” the award-winning drama by August Wilson, will be performed April 7-23 by the Westport Community Theatre.
The play, which won Pulitzer and Tony awards in 1987, will be staged over three weekends at Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Ave.
The performance schedule is: 8 p.m., Friday-Saturday, April 7-8; 2 p.m. Sunday, April 9; 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, April 13-15; 2 p.m. Sunday, April 16; 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday, April 21-22; 2 p.m. Sunday, April 23.

Framing issues of race, class and aspiration in 1950s America, “Fences” focuses on the family of Troy Maxson, who earlier in life had been a star player in the Negro baseball leagues, but now works as a garbage collector.
The cast incudes: Roderick Adams as Lyons, Marley Bramble as Raynell, Dan Fedrick as Gabriel, Loretta Fedrick as Rose, Herman Livingston as Troy, Matt Simmons as Cory and Mark Sage Hamilton as Bono.
The production is directed by Richard Mancini.
