NORWALK — The Norwalk Conservatory of the Art is once again bidding farewell to the summer with a set of outdoor performances highlighting musical hits from Broadway.

Broadway in the Park will take place at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 22 and Saturday, Aug. 29 at Mathews Park. This is the third year the concert series has taken place.

“Broadway in the Park has become so much more than a performance series. It’s a cultural gathering place for the community,” said Christina Bacigalupo, assistant production Director at the Conservatory. “Each summer we watch these songs bring families together for an musical picnic in the park, and adding live musicians at sunset this year takes that experience and makes it even more special.”

The 4 p.m. performances will feature performances by the Conservatory’s students and alumni, who will sing hits from Wicked, Hamilton, Aladdin, and other popular Broadway shows. They will also feature some hit songs designed to appeal to families and younger audiences, including pop favorites from KPop Demon Hunters.

New this year, live musicians will join singers for the 7 p.m. sunset performances. This concert will perform timeless songs from Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $15 for children ages 4 to 14, and free for children 3 and under. Students at Wolfpit Elementary School can get free tickets thanks to a grant from the Norwalk Arts & Culture Commission, and VIP tickets are available for the Rodgers and Hammerstein performances.
