RIDGEFIELD — The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum has introduced a new family art program, inviting parents and guardians to experience artmaking and exhibitions with their children.

“Co-Create” features a shared exploration of the museum’s galleries, followed by a hands-on workshop experience. The program was designed to cater to a wide range of ages, starting as early as four, and to be collaborative in nature.

The first Co-Create program took place on Oct. 3rd, with families receiving step-by-step instructions on how to create paper sculptures inspired by the works of Chris Domenick, which are featured in The Aldrich Decennial exhibition. The next program will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7th, with families receiving instruction on how to weave a tapestry on a loom with ribbons, yarn, and natural materials. This next project is inspired by the work of Beck Lowry, who is also an Aldrich Decennial artist.

Registration for the program includes admission for one child and one adult as well as art materials, a guided in-gallery group discussion, and a finished art project to take home. For more information, click here.
